{ Baby Amélie }

It's been a while since my last blog post but I have the best excuse ever.

On October 19th 2014, I become a mother to the most beautiful little girl, Amélie Akiko.

I had been in labor for 36 hours and had pushed unsuccessfully for 2 1/2 hours before having to have a cesarian. For those of you who know me, a C-Section was the very last thing in life I ever wanted to experience. This is coming from a girl who didn't even like having her blood pressure taken!  But on that first night when she was in the same room with us, all the horrors I had been through just hours before seemed so far away...

All it took was one look at her face, and I just knew. For the rest of my life, I would do ANYTHING for this little girl.

The love a mother feels for her child is unlike anything I have ever experienced before. The smell of her breath is breathtaking. The grunts and noises she makes are the most entertaining.  I don't mind skipping out on sleep or a meal, if it makes her happy.

I have so many hopes and dreams for you little Angel, Mommy can't wait to see what you will become.

XOXO
